Chicken Malai Koftas

My kids love kofta’s ( meatballs) with rice or naans. This recipe is easy and simple to follow. I cook in large quantity so at least it lasts for two meals . I made 15 meatballs. I’ll share the ingredients you can make it according to your needs and family size . You can use beef keema too. For beef Keema koftas check kofta curry recipe in my highlights.

Ingredients  for Chicken koftas ;

  • 1/2 Finely choppped onions
  • 1/2 bunch Finely chopped green coriander
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 1 tbsp Gg paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander pwdr
  • 1 tsp Red chilli pwdr

Mix everything up . To make meatballs rub some oil on your hands and make small meatballs . Oily hands makes it easy to make meatball shape. Keema doesn’t stick to hands . Now you can bake the meatballs on 450 degrees or you can pan fry them until they change colour to light golden.

Ingredients for Malai Masala;

  • 1/4 cup Oil
  • 1 cup ( 2 onions )Onion paste
  • 1 tsp Gg paste
  • 2 tsp Tomato paste
  • 2 Black cardamoms
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Tumeric
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala pwdr
  • Dry methi  a little for flavour
  • 1 cup Heavy cream

Method ;

  • In a hot pan , add oil and black cardamom. Then add onion paste and gg paste . Cook until onions turn golden . Then add all the spices . Give a stir then add tomato paste .
  • Now add 1/4 of hot water and bhonafy the masala well, until oil separates .
  • Now add cream  and cook for another 5 minutes . When the masala is all nice and creamy add kofta’s (meatballs ).
  • Add another 1/4 cup of hot water and let the koftas simmer until oil separates on the top. Sprinkle dry methi.
  • Serve hot with naan , roti or rice .

I made garlic tarka rice .

Do try  it , your family will enjoy.

Stay blessed ❤️
